Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra

Yes! Thats right! Our IMU Choir Club managed to swoop in and get a feel of great music while being able to have a great time together.

Well, the MPO has been around for years now from somewhere around 1998. It is famous not only back here but at the international platform as well. The MPO has visited many a times to the major cities in Malaysia as well as Singapore. Not only that, they have made performances and held events in Japan, Korea, Australia, China, and Taiwan. Just for your information, the Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) plays the role of being the main benafactor of the MPO.
Well, let me fill you up with what we did. We rushed from IMU to reach just in time for the concert. We watched 3 songs, so thats like, 3 performances. The first one was some flute music. However, the middle piece 'tchaikovsky' by the Tan sisters of MPO was awesome! Orgasmically awesome (according to our dear friend, Wellington). Thats right!

These are some bits and pieces of what our friend Wellington had to say about the performance; "Did i say orgasmic? Yes, it was ORGASMICALLY SURREAL! Waa, i tell you, everyone had a serotonin and dopamine surge in tsunami waves across their cerebral cortex when the cellist Tan Poh Joo started playing. Waa, her emotions and expressions and feelings into the bow and cello as she immersed herself into the music..say it was really a legend..wait for it... Well, i was so enthralled.. DARY!!"

After the performances, we left. Had dinner at the KLCC food court. Right after dinner, we walked around KLCC. The best part was when we discovered to our hamstrings content that we had to walk from KLCC t othe very far away Jalan Raja Chulan (monorail stop@ Bukit Bintang) because the KLCC train had muscle cramps and would take 30mins to reach each stop.

Hence, everyone walked all the way there. Finally just before the break of dawn, we found the stairway to heaven- Wellington" Actually to the counter to buy monorail tickets to get to the Hang Tuah station and then to the Sri Petaling station and then~home.

Despite all the walking and all, everyone had a wonderful time and experience together.
On another note, I would like to provide additional information here. Just so you know, the MPO has been and still is, conducting instrumental lessons, music workshops, concerts and also pre-concert events and rehearsals. So, for those of you who are interested in experiencing the magic, do not hestitate to give yourself a go for it! Go ahead, check out the MPO for yourself.

NOTE: Those of you who did attend the event, please feel free to give us your feedback. We could in fact, make it an annual event or so, I daresay, if we had a majority yes to the idea. Your feedback will be very much appreciated. =)
